Deepening Discipleship - Making More Disciples

As the name suggests, we are a family of Churches, in the north of Leicester.
We exists to share the love of God and the Good News of the Gospel through the worship and activities of the individual churches.

You can be assured of a warm welcome at any of our places of worship, so please feel free to join us. Our churches vary in both physical size and congregation but all have regular services and social activities.

"Sakwe Update"
Removals day arrived at last for the family - happily the rain held off until the packing was finished. Two efficient and friendly men, with other helpers, soon had the van filled to capacity and on behalf of the Circuit I said "Farewell and God go with you."
They arrived safely to a warm welcome from the Circuit leaders at Cannock, and no doubt are still unpacking!!
Our thoughts and prayers continue with them.

From Chris and Viv Gray
I’ve been invited to write something for the Circuit website and I’m really pleased to do so. Viv and I have many happy memories of Leicester North and I hope you find this update interesting.
We have been in the Nottingham Trent Valley Circuit for six years now. It has been a good experience for us both. Viv has been working alongside a minister covering three churches in Long Eaton and Breaston. I have been continuing to work in Beeston, also covering three churches, with a children’s worker in one of them and a Family Worker about to start in another.
2010/11 will be our last year here. We will be moving on in August 2011 and the stationing processes will get underway this autumn.
Our oldest daughter Deborah and her husband, Jon, continue to live in North Wales. A year ago they provided us with our first grandchild, Bethan. She is a great delight! I am sure I am not old enough to be a granddad… We try to see them once a month, but every time we do she has grown and developed remarkably. We have just had a great holiday with them in Whitby.
Our middle girl, Helen, was married to James in January 2009. They live in Birmingham and Helen still works for Christian Music Ministries with Roger Jones. It was great to meet some of you again when “Rock” came to the De Montfort Hall. Helen now runs workshops and “musical in a day” events for local churches. It was great to have her lead a weekend in one of my churches in March earlier this year.
Miriam is just finishing a Masters degree in Psychology at Nottingham University and will be studying for a doctorate here from October. She also works part time at Lings Bar Hospital, a local rehabilitation centre. She is heavily involved with Trinity Methodist Church, Long Eaton, playing in the music group and being part of their Street Pastors team.
We remain busy and active. I miss watching Leicester Tigers. Sadly, Nottingham play on a Sunday afternoon so there is no way I can get to see them.
Our walk along the Great Wall of China last year was very special and we are very grateful for all the sponsorship we received. Over £9000 was raised for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Viv joins me in sending our love to you all.
With very best wishes
Chris Gray

By Charles Hilton.

A huge congratulation to the 'Time for Pray' team, for the 24 hour event at Syston Methodist Church.

I must admit that I only put my name down on the list because there was only one other name from Birstall Methodist Church.

How glad I am that I went, it was a truly moving time.
